Great tribute Ritchie. You really got things right. The Les Smith figure is so much larger than the other figures. Les himself was so much larger than life!
I was lucky to meet him a few times when I lived in England. I collared him one day about Marlow Industries here in New Zealand. They were allowed to make some matchbox items under licence.
The paper road ways, a carry case and later on were allowed to use the plastic kit set illustrations to make some jig saw puzzles. This was because Les knew some people out here in New Zealand and Australia from his job before be coming Mr Matchbox. Can't remember the name of the person but they were tired up with Marlow industries which how this all came about.
