Jason, maybe your Banger has the prepro base with the narrower leaf springs on the left?

Hi David,

I really like your yellow Big Banger pre-pro. Wish they made a factory variant in this colour!
The red one though (Brazilian) looks just like the standard version.. so is it something on the baseplate that sets it apart?

Cheers,
Ken

Hi Ken,

There is no casting difference with the Brazil model. The main difference is the paint is more of a true orange color and not the red-orange of the England version. It is probably easier to see in a comparison picture. Other things to note are the sloppy window paint - looks to me like too much paint was applied around the window frames and the window was inserted before this thick paint was completely dry.

Very nice prepro David, do like it in the yellow. I have checked the base and it is the same as the standard one. Thanks for the info. Jason

David thanks for showing!! and i note that there are numerous differences between the two castings.

That's the first time i have noted the difference in the leaf springs, from prepro to production model.

I also noted that the end struts on the engine block on the pro pro model seem to finish at a slight angle where as the production model are straight??,,,,,,,or am i seeing things

Furthermore there are 3 or 4 cast ribbed lines at the rear, near the rear bumper area that dont appear on the prepro model, not to mention the different rear light cluster casting!!

Hmm.. that's a rare variation, Mathias, wonder what the story behind it is.

Very rare model Mathias. I consider it a #48B at heart but goes well with these. I think it was a late issue made from left over Banger and Pi-Eyed piper parts at the time the Romen Numeral issues were being made. It is unfortunately easy to fake due to the one-rivet base so you need to look carefully at these, or ideally find them in a blisterpack.
