Just in case any of you missed this rare model that recently came up for auction

It must be a pre-pro as no matching Lesney model has such small hubs …...

Just a light clean of the hubs to check tyre detail and all is revealed ……..

Someone had a very good eye and a fine brush all those years ago to provide such detail.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't one of the 46b box illustrations show a model with plastic tyres on metal hubs.

Sorry, but I can only see a dirty BPW ø9x24 on corroded axis.

Spot on Antonin - the wheels around the hub had been finely detailed to represent hubs on both sides of the wheels.
Very carefully done and from the paint condition quite a while ago.
Cleaning the wheel removed the old paint to reveal as you say 9x24 wheels.

It was exciting for a few minutes when the box was opened :D

I've just had a similar experience - "12 Lesney Matchbox trucks - all Regular Wheel models(except one)". Well I could see the Superfast Faun crane, so what was the orangey-red pipe truck at the back of the photo with black wheels? It was as I guessed a Superfast with all the foil gone from the wheels, but you just never know! I've also managed to buy a couple of red SF Ferrari Berlinettas that just about looked as if they might be hubbed RW models. It's all part of the fun :D
