#10 Pipe Truck Variation Question

Post by Mark S. »

With the snow and cold blowing outside I am going over some of my "duplicates" to see if I have any variations. Found several using the guide elsewhere on this website.
Looking at the base on the pipe truck there is no "raised" platform. There is a partial halo of it but it is virtually flat. Is this a common occurrence?

Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.

Both of My Regular Wheel 10d Pipe Trucks also have an outline around 'ergonomic cab' rather than a raised platform - it's the chrome-plated plastic baseplate with a towing guide.

I always thought my 2 examples were identical, but on inspection, the wording of 'pipe truck' below "Matchbox Series" is slightly to the left on one compared to my other model. Different halves of the die I suspect. So, I'm glad I looked now!
