I've been offered some Dinky models.

Post by Tinman »

I'm always getting emails from people wanting to sell me die cast stuff.  The latest one would be these Dinky's (click on photo to enlarge).

He wants $80 for the BBC camera truck, $50 for the street sweeper and $45 for the dust bin/refuse truck. He says these are his discount prices before he puts them on ebay (and offered to ship them at his expense). I have no idea if these are good prices or not. Not being Dinky "smart" I don't even know if they are missing anything else besides the tires. So what do the experts say on condition, missing parts and the prices???

Hi

I’d pass on those prices in NZ$, US$ Would be a supreme rip off. Availability of Dinky NZ and US is comparable, prices in the UK are likely to be even cheaper due to more supply.

The BBC van has a missing cameraman as well as the Tyres. The aerial goes in the hole down the back.

The sweeper is French dinky and the most desirable, but as with the others the level of playwear doesn’t equate to those prices. I must admit when I saw the $80 mentioned first I instantly assumed that was the price for the lot, before reading on and shaking my head!

I guess eBay will have these in their inventory for a while.

Cheers
Dave

My thoughts exactly. I'd hate to see his regular price!
