Dinky Toys Miniature Figures For Model Railways

Post by lionel-honda »

I have been in a bit of a drought lately, but finally some new Dinky Toys have arrived. I already had most of these in my collection, but not in this condition. These figures are all tied in and have never been out of the boxes. I like the Hudson Dobson labels too...

Wonderful mate!
I love these sets, and the HD labels are a real winner, looks to be in superb condition too. Makes you wonder where they've been?

The previous owner told me he purchased them at an estate sale & that there were two of each set, including the farm animals. My guess is that they were purchased as model railroad accessories, for a model railroad that was never built.

Hi lional-honda,

Its fantastic viewing when items like these turn up, don't collect anything like this myself, but love to see anything toy related that is in such good condition, as these are. The U.S. distributors labels are fantastic, I would like to find just one of those on it's own for my ephemera collection.

I have a collection of Gowland & Gowland "Highway Pioneers" plastic kits, which during 1955 to 1956, were marketed in the U.K. by Bailey's agencies, an importer and factor of toys. Two of my kits then have the actual shops own label stuck to the box tops and for me, these are precious pieces of model ephemera. When there is a section on the forum for such items, I will post some pictures.

I will be posting an item about those Hong Kong Dinkies very soon, I have been holding off for a while, trying to find that one example I have for some pictures, may have to borrow some of the 'Net', I won't pinch your's.

Regards,
GHOSTHUNTER.

If it wasn't for drugs, alcohol, and stupidity, I'd be out of work!
