There is one small unlisted variation. The oblong hole could be:

Well spotted, Antonin!
We have previously discussed this (on the old forum) in the context of the 11b Tanker, and the conclusion we came to was that the hole has something to do with the release of the tool in the tank barrel, although I can’t remember whether we decided that the hole had been deliberately sealed or whether it merely represents flashing over caused by die wear.
I’ve already had a bit of a look at the 73a table and have a number of comments in mind (hopefully Saturday, wife permitting), so I expect that the end result will be a major overhaul of the variations list, with a significant number of additions.

Re: 73a RAF 10 ton Pressure Refuleller, unlisted variation
Your memory must be short, as I listed this base variation on the old site neally 2 years ago, about the time I listed the rear end open or closed on the 73a model.
Re: 73a RAF 10 ton Pressure Refuleller, unlisted variation
It could happen, that I can overlook something. But if you has mentioned open/closed holes nearly 2 years ago, it seems to be after my reference from the year 2011. For your infill between tank and body I would appreciate some more photos. Would be not possible that it is a dry drop of the paint?kerbside wrote:Your memory must be short, as I listed this base variation on the old site neally 2 years ago, about the time I listed the rear end open or closed on the 73a model.

If this is the variation I'm thinking of, Nick has added a photograph to his catalogue page for this model together with a request for additional information.Diecast wrote:For your infill between tank and body I would appreciate some more photos. Well Antonin, which variation are you talking about, the base one or the rear end one. In either case it is not a dry bit of paint, as you suggest.

In my contribution I was talking about the base variation with open/closed oblong hole first. I remember that you have mentioned the infill in the rear, and this was second part of my contribution ( I remember that you have one model with rear silver trim also)

Hi Antonin.
Is that the closed version. ?
I have only one model and have unfortunately no comparison.

HI Mike
Yes, it is a variation with closed oblong hole. The variation with open hole is rarer.
