Is it possible to establish if this is made from mazac metal (which the main body will be made of) or white metal witch is a softer metal which can be bent. Can you find a little area which would allow you to press-in a small sharp object just to see if it will penetrate the metal underneath the paint. If it does then I suspect it is made of white metal.

Hi Ghosthunter
Yep, used an awl and it pressed in.
Doesn’t do that in the body, so white metal
Really strange that it would have a repo metal base?
Does anyone know who made them?
I would imagine that it was originally for the Steed replicas...
Weird how mine ended up with one on an original body...
Cheers

Re: Dinky Big Cat Jaguar
It is unlikey we will ever know unless more examples surface, then it might suggest the white metal base was commissioned by Dinky from a white metal kit maker in the UK because remember, these Hong Kong models were made by Lintoy for Dinky. Which one of the Big Cat models it was made for again is impossible to tell unless the working features of the Steed car required a more substantial baseplate but that does not help explain how one got onto your white Big Cat model !?!
