Hermes (again!)

Post by Idris »

I think we’ve all long ago agreed that Hermes are probably the worst parcel delivery company in existence. Well, they’ve no taken things to a whole new level!
I recently had a parcel ‘delivered’. Well, what they actually did was throw it over the gate, leaving it on the drive in the pouring rain and in plain view from the road. I therefore tried to complain, only to find that their Customer Service e-mail address no longer works, the Customer Service telephone no. no longer works, and it is impossible to get the fully-automated Helpline to put you through to a real person. I did eventually manage to get the chatbot to agree to have someone e-mail me within 24 hours, but that never happened
So, it would seem that Hermes has come up with the ideal plan to reduce the number of customer complaints: make it impossible for the customers to register them, and don’t give the customers any possibility of accessing a human being !

Hermes use local residents to deliver parcels under their own terms and conditions. Hermes only handle administration and the wages for their delivery staff.

If you could spot a Hermes parcel being delivered to somone else near you, it is very likely the same person who delivered yours!

That's the odd thing about it. We had the two ladies who normally deliver well trained but, for some reason, the last two deliveries appear to have been carried out by someone else entirely.

Update: The two ladies are now working for another outfit called "DX Secure", meaning that Hermes deliveries are being carried out by someone who is obviously a lot less conscientious.

I've finally managed to establish communication with a human being at Hermes!
To save everyone else going through all the hassle I've had, the e-mail address for registering complaints (I can't imagine any other reason for wanting to contact them) with Hermes Support is myhermes@mailgb.custhelp.com.

I had the same as Gary. Parcel sent to me tracked Royal Mail. Went to collection point and asked the guy on the counter to do an internal trace (sounds painful) as not seen after 10 days and not scanned.
This he did and said it had arrived there and was passed to "walking delivery".
Never to be seen again. Not scanned as delivered (to an address other than mine for example) so he said
"Oh well, it's lost then". To which I replied
"Either that or you've got a light fingered operative, or it's sat at the bottom of a van somewhere".
His only response was "Ring this number and make a claim".
Fortunately the Vendor had already refunded me in full via E-Bay claim process. He was trying to get his money back from Royal Mail. Good luck with that. It was a £60+ deal.
