Tan & orange crane hybrid
Tan & orange crane hybrid
Lots of work needed to get rid of the motor housing from the 21 concrete truck, but it makes a nice Foden crane truck. The glass was broken and missing on the Foden and I liked the way it reminded me of the 26 concrete truck. In that theme i removed the glass from the crane's cabin. Fun to make and a fun tribute color to the rare six wheel crane truck.

Tinman, you and couple of others come up with some fantastic customs and paint combinations just like this one!
I can't believe that Lesney / Matchbox with all their resources, research and development departments couldn't come up with models like these.
Your even utilizing existing models or tooling combinations so these new creations wouldn't be too expensive to produce.
I've seen some of the research and development creations at Vectis sales over the years and they are crap compared to the creations, customs we are privileged to see here.
So thank you for your efforts and that of others here on the forum.

Thanks for the positive comments. Some are winners and some are losers. The losers tend to get repainted, or sometimes, they come back apart and become something I like better. I might look for pics of some of the losers and make a thread of those.

Joe, in Germany we say: Two stupid, one thought.
I am working on the same project!
But you were faster!
My last step were spraying, but I am not happy with the colours. Will respray the cab. But now I am in holiday, so will take some time.

Thomas, very much looking forward to seeing your Foden crane truck. Already, I like the ribbed deck you have set up. I wanted a very similar deck, but went with quick & lazy route using a piece cut from sheet styrene. I have since acquired some sheet styrene with the ribs already formed, so the next lazy method will have to look I want. Also on my want list; some sheet styrene embossed with the look of diamond plate. However, that wasn't in stock and had to be ordered (arrival date unknown).
