One needs to consider the condition of any baseplate or casting whenever shades determination is the subject of the day.Acids from handling,poor storage,contaminants in the air,fats and other imposing factors incl heat do affect the paints appearance.
In this instant with the paint being baked & durable,its advisable to first remove the buffer layer with a bit of acetone,thinners or brakefluid using a Q-tip (cotton bud) and then do the comparisons.
