39b Beat, steering wheel & windscreen gone, bent axles

Post by Tinman »

I love the 39a and b castings. The b casting is so crisp and detailed with several variations including color. This one was very play worn with lots of paint missing, the axles were rusty and the axles and base were bent. The windscreen was broken off - gone and the steering wheel was missing. It came out really nice and is a variation we all have hunted. My only regret is that my hand is no longer steady enough to do the silver trim on the front. It will just have to be a negative variation of a rare variation ... Purple with 9 x 20 GPW.

Very nice looking model Joe you have done some sterling work on it to bring it back from the breakers yard, the standards remain very high.

Thanks Kevin, I listed it for sale last night. I walked away from the computer and went to hang out with the wife and watch one of her favorite TV shows. I sat there a few minutes and then decided I didn't want to sell this one and would keep it for myself. I went back and logged on only to discover it had already sold for my asking price. Oh well, another will come along sooner or later and I'll keep that one. At least I'm making some pittance of an income while sheltering at home and being out of work (works out to about fifty cents an hour, I think convicts in prison make a higher wage lol).

I'm running low and out of some critical parts, I need Steve Flowers back on the job as I need another windscreen for the last 39b I have (among other parts).
