Matchbox 47 Perrings

Post by nearlymint »

Just wondering if anyone has any info on the the Perrings model, I have a couple now and have seen others. Just wondering if it is just classed as a code 3.

Never come across one.
What does the tipper hinge area look like? Inspection of the paint on the inner and outer faces of the eyes, and especially inside the actual holes, should provide a good indication of whether this was shipped from the factory with or without the tipper section. (If with, then I suggest a Code 3, if without, then Code 2.)

Tim is good at turning up stuff like this, so it might be worth drawing his attention to this thread.

Hi Hugh,
Both of the ones I have look like they had the hinge pin.

I've never seen this either. Looks to be covered in paper labels. What's the box look like from the back? How is the box attached? What's the box made of? Can we see some more photos (rear, underside, etc)?
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

Its a wooden block, with a hole in the base, the card is then glued to the wooden block. Box fits very nicely, I really like the model and I think it looks really good on display. Reminds me of truck my dad used to drive.

Simple yet very effective. I like it too, it's a natural for a rigid box truck. What's it say on the front of the box, looks like Perrings Bedding or something like that.

I'm thinking it's probably a Code 3, but that's just a semi-educated hunch.
