Finished 6c
Finished 6c
Not sure if my less than steady hand made things better or worse with the detailing.

I like that you have given the driver a clearer view out the front windscreen.
I had to grab one of my 6c just to check the cab size. The use of a second colour highlights how squat the cab looks, something I had not noticed on the all yellow colour model.
Nice work.

I was planning to go retro and add two pillars to duplicate the windscreen of the 6b. However, I decided I liked this look better. Thank you for the kind words.yellowfoden wrote:I like that you have given the driver a clearer view out the front windscreen.

I also meant to add that you must be really pleased that you organized your spray can tins in the timber frame. Nothing like a well organized workspace especially when one can quickly see and easily reach each item. A good space saver as well.

Yes, the rattle can rack is nice and handy. Now I'm working on a rack for all the little bottles and tins of model paints.
I went a little more professional on another rack I just made. I have all my fasteners and small hardware stored in large plastic tray organizers. While the tray organizers are convenient, moving six or seven of them to get to the one you need was NOT and quite a hassle. I decided to make an 80" tall cabinet to hold all the parts trays. I placed shelf standards in a dado cuts, the shelving is adjustable to accommodate any combination of thin or thick organizers. At counter top height, I made one pull out shelf on full extension slides. This allows me to walk up to the rack, read the labels on each organizer and then pull out the shelf and set the organizer tray down in front of me. Each of the organizer trays have individual bins inside so I can pull out the bin I need and take it to where the project is.
I built a new wet bar on the covered patio by the swimming pool and I used this gray laminate with the grain running horizontal (it looks great on the wet bar). So I had a bunch of this laminate and some cabinet grade plywood, with white melamine on one side, that was left over. I made this rack to hold all the hardware trays and I must say it really makes finding and getting the hardware easy as pie. It also takes up much less space than all those individual trays stacked on my garage shelves and work bench and has reduced a lot of frustration and cursing. It would look better if I would clean up my mess of a garage/work shop.

The hardware tray rack is off topic, but the other rack, that Burt was talking about, was from a post about a month ago. Here is a couple of pics of my rattle can or spray paint can rack - it holds 120 cans and takes up very little floor space. I've parked it right next to my garage/workshop fridge.

Joe, Your workshop would be deserving of its own thread on the Restoration Handbook page! So much to see and learn ranging from the work benches and tools to cabinets with the organized pars bins to the paint storage.
I hope the new tall cabinet with the pull out parts cases is bolted to the wall!
Thanks for sharing

It's fastened to the side of that tool chest that you can see behind it. The tool chest is 60" (5') tall, nearly 4' wide and 18" deep. It's loaded with tools and quite heavy, neither of them are going anywhere without a struggle. Also, all the parts trays are arranged with heavy at the bottom and they get lighter as they go up.
