DCMT slikka jobbing gardener set
Missing the gardener and the shears but still pleased to get it
Very disappointed with the seller who sent it in an old amazon jiffy bag inside a plastic post bag, resulting in the already fragile and damaged box getting crushed, luckily the castings were ok
A suitable negative feedback was left and a 100% feedback score lost

Re: Slikka garden set
Love that set Reg, what year were these made. I have had various parts like this in job lots. J

The only reference I have found so far is a DCMT advertisement from March 1950 shown in the Toys That Time Forgot book by Geoffrey Ambridge
ISBN 978-0-9539058-1-2
I would think Kev or Robert Newson would know a lot more about it than I do
I'm surprised that the deck chair survived so long as it's extremely delicate

Yes its amazing its still in one piece, I hate it when items are sent poorly packed. I have had a few items broken due to poor packing over the years, survives for years only to get broken due to useless packaging.

Re: Slikka garden set
Essentially anything with the Slikka name was made in 1950 by DCMT. This was a brand name soon to be replaced with one that became a little bit more popular and well known in years to come...Lone-Star!

I used to cut sellers a bit of slack, but have completely stopped that now. The last time I left negative feedback, it was for something which was posted to me in just an envelope, with no padding or wrapping whatsoever. (Amazingly, it arrived intact.) Negative feedback was left, whereupon the vendor demanded that I return the item and, when that didn't work, he refunded the purchase price (without any claim or agreement from me) and then tried to get Ebay to remove the feedback on the grounds that he'd given a full refund!
On a previous occasion, I had someone say they would take me to court if I didn't remove the negative feedback I'd left. (I told him to get a life, and never heard from him again.)
There are some very odd people out there.
