Our fighting Avenger has sadly passed away from natural causes aged 94.

Norris Cole and Roy Cropper both came to a charity gig my band played signing autographs and Honor played against Norris in Coronation Street.I thought at the time that puts me 3 steps from James Bond in my favorite Bond film Goldfinger..She held on to her looks right to the end.Stunner-----I was 15.

In the Avenger's Christmas Episode "Too Many Christmas Trees", Diana Rigg (Mrs Peel) is helping John Steed open up his Christmas cards. This is the year of the Black and White Diana Rigg episodes so it would follow from the Honor Blackman episodes. Steed gets a Card from Cathy Gale. He says she is in Fort Knox, and asks "I wonder what she is doing there"? Inside reference to Honor Blackman leaving the Avengers show to work on the Bond film "Goldfinger" that took place in part at Fort Knox. I watch the episode every Christmas season and still get a kick out of it.
