Dinky AEC single decker bus

Post by Markcorgi »

Hi everyone,

I wonder if anybody has any experience of renovating a dinky 283 single decker bus and has any idea what shade of green to use for the green line model , any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Maybe ask this in the Restoration forum, it may generate a response.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

The Dinky Kits came with Humbrol paint. Looking at the colour the Green Line buses are usually painted it looks like it was No. 2 Emerald.

The real buses never carried the Green Line name, but some were delivered in London Transport Lincoln green with yellow band, like the example shown in the photo below. The fleet name later changed to London Country, and in the mid 70s some were painted in National Bus Company leaf green, the same colour as the bus partly visible on the left-hand side of the photo, and closer to the Dinky Kit colour.
