Here is something seldomly seen even by Dinky Toy collectors.
Looking like a regular Dinky Toys Rolls-Royce Phantom V...
This one has the small wheel rims usually reserved for the small family saloon cars such as the Hillman Imp and the Vauxhall Viva etc.
It has playware resulting in the mascot being lost but that does not matter, this is so flipping hard to find in any condition, details like that are not important.
Base rivets are as factory fresh as the day it was made, no tampering there.

Excellent find! I can tell your pleased with the model.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."
Re: Hen's Teeth at Last!
Those small diameter wheels don’t suit the stature of the vehicle they are on Kevin, it looks much better when the wheels fill the wheel arch imho.

Yes Joe indeed I am. Its one of those variations so easily missed unless you know exactly what to look for. In the 40+ years I have been involved with Rolls-Royce toys and models this is only the third example I have seen.Tinman wrote:Excellent find! I can tell your pleased with the model.
I would think this is a case of a component short fall and they used the next available wheel to complete a production run.motorman wrote:Those small diameter wheels don’t suit the stature of the vehicle they are on Kevin, it looks much better when the wheels fill the wheel arch imho.
