That's an impressive collection! I'd love to see a closer view of the brown Cadillac. I find the colours really difficult on this one (except green - that's easy to spot!).

What a great picture George, really showing the colours well.

yes, that's a lovely picture. Here's why I struggle with the colours:
Green, silver, brown?, mauve.
and here's the same picture with a brown Jaguar:
Most days I think my brownish Cadillac is sunfaded mauve. It would be really good to see a genuine brown Cadillac with the Mk 10 Jaguar (please!).

You did a good job depicting them. I probably wouldn't do so well, and would be inclined to blame my equipment.DrJeep wrote:I struggle with the colours.

Thanks, Squid. I'll confess that I did use my very nice full frame Canon DSLR with a good lens on a solid tripod. However, I think the real trick is to photograph on a white background (nothing special, just photocopier paper) and use the auto-white balance feature in photo editing software to take away any colour cast. I've had equally good results with an old Panasonic compact using the same approach (see the pictures from the NEC last Christmas, for which I'd taken a sheet of A4 white paper).Squid wrote:You did a good job depicting them. I hadn't considered the use of photo-editing software, most likely because I do not have a functioning computer at this time. However, the problem I encountered during my most recent die-cast photo-shoot was a cell phone camera that I almost could not get to focus. Perhaps next time I'll try my old Nikon point-and-shoot. When I have a higher disposable income, I'll pick up a new PC and a DSLR.DrJeep wrote:I think the real trick is to photograph on a white background (nothing special, just photocopier paper) and use the auto-white balance feature in photo editing software to take away any colour cast.
