Guess I wasn't the only one to spot the green Caddy in this little lot. One of the few rarities that I really really like as a version in it's own right. Bid every last penny in my PayPal and still didn't win. I only hope it was another forum member that got it?
Happy again - my wife made a cake I am a man of simple pleasures.
It would be boring to win them all, I get much of my pleasure from the search.
Mike - I think we like the green ones so much because we know they are green - the colour does not confuse us like the other Cadillacs
HI Ewan,
I have to confess that I was the guilty party who made you cry. I only noticed the joblot the night before it ended and, as a well know matchbox dealer was the current high bidder on the lot, I took a closer look at the picture and to my surprise the caddy was green.
However my main reason for buying it may become apparent to you from the attached photo. From bottom to top are the item from the joblot, another green caddy I bought some time ago(also in a large joblot) and another model for colour comparison. The middle model has what appears to be a cream roof and as such does not fall into any of Nicks listed categories of off white. I am wondering if the roof is original or repainted?. I would be obliged if any member could throw some light on this.
Anyway thats quite enough from me for now as this is getting to be a long first post, so I look forward to any feedback regarding the roof colour and again accept my appologies for bringing a tear to your eyes but at least the model went to another forum member.
Regards
Frank
PS sorry if the pic is too big or small i've yet to master picture size.
Hi Moston.
If you click on your picture of the 3 cadillacs to expand it, place your cursor (mouse pointer) on the picture, hold the Ctrl key down and wind your mouse wheel in and out it will enlarge / reduce the picture size, enlarge the picture and look along the broken edge of where the paint is chipped you will see white paint under the cream, so the roof has been repainted at some time, You may be able to clean off the repaint with nail polish remover and a Q-tip.
Congratulations, no apology required
Glad to see it did go to another forum member and in all honesty I hadn't even noticed the roof, I didn't look past the green!
