Re: Recent additions

Post by racer X »

Hello:

My name is Pablo. A mounth ago I bought in Buenos Aires a Citroën SM K-33 Matchbox that was for repair, lacking of some details and sealed with scotch tape for the Price of 450 pesos (about six dollars).
In the site /matchbox.fandom.com we can read that the Citroën SM K-33 was produced between 1972-1976, but in the base of my car it seems to indicate 1971 (something worn). I have the doubt about the year of launching of Citroën SM K-33.

Hello Pablo.

Your model is correct, nothing worn. The 1971 date was the intended first issue date but the model does not appear in the 1971 catalogues so matchbox.fandom.com is also correct because the model does appear in the 1972 catalogues.

Thank you ghosthunter for your clear and quick response. It is curious that matchbox have the year printed in the base, It seems that Jack Odell had known that his toys would became in the future pieces of collection.

I'm tempted to say it's something to do with the SF15 VWs which appear to have a distinct colour difference.
