For this to be a restoration, it would have to have been coloured red originally, which it probably was not.

If the colour is different from what it was originally, I would call it a repaint, not a restoration.

You’re both right, of course - it’s a repaint, though the seller called it a restoration and priced it at £25. It does make me wonder if his tan Morris might really be a restoration, as he’s kept its price at £950 for years.

On the tan Morris ad he has always stated that it was an original tan version in not good (tired) condition so he repainted it !!! He has just basically destroyed what was once a valuable model by doing this and made it around the same value as his othe rrepaints.

Since the base photograph appears to show the reinforcement under the baseplate tab slot, i would suggest that it is not a restored original tan model, but a repainted green or blue version.
