Just got this wonderful Harry Hayseed
The clockwork motor doesn't work and the steering column is a replacement but so happy to have one

For those that don't know, the toy above is the 'Tricky Tractor' from 1948 and 1949 from DCMT and one of the very early products from this company pre-dating anything Lone-Star. The figure is known as Harry Hayseed who can also be found on a bicyle balancing on a high wire and obviousely felt he would be safer on a Tractor or on a gangers truck for 'O' scale model railways.

Oddly enough he is not named as Harry Hayseed on the box for the Tractor but is simply called...Farm Boy!

Great find :shock: ,and they are fairly fragile,yours steering wheel looks the same as mine :D
Heres mine,i was thinking about this particular toy last saturday when i was outbid on the gangers toy,must try harder lol,

it does look the same steering wheel although mine is unpainted
ther's one on the lone star facetwat page that has open spokes
yous looks to be in fantastic condition does the clockwork mechanisem work

hi,yes it works,i don,t have a key and wound it with pliers it goes forwards and backwards changing direction ,a bit like me parking my car lol
