Is it genuine or is it fake?

I suppose a question that needs to be asked is "Were/are repro decals available?'.

Quite a few sheets of original jensen decals exist with many put on the mini models. Repro decals exist for all the rarer corgi models.

Does the 'thumbnail test' work in telling the reproduction decals from the genuine ones?

Also reproduction decals will have a clear carrier film unlike genuine decals with a creamy-brown carrier film due to old age. Even genuine decals from the period but found in storage will be subjected to the same age problem and the carrier film will easily be seen to have suffered aginst the backing card.

I would agree that this is an original Jensen's Imp which has been repainted. That definitely makes it more interesting than a "code 3" on a standard Imp, so a nice bonus for you!

Have the Jensen's Minis ever been properly authenticated? Examples have gone for silly money, but always in standard colours, unlike the Imp, and from what I have heard there appears to be some doubt as to their authenticity.
