Got these three interesting lots yesterday in the post, there are a few gems in there but it really its what you collect that would make it a gem to you.
There are a couple of models i need ghosty to look at and possibly name ,the large plastic hong kong police motorcyclist with a model number 3359,and the slush cast saloon, and there are couple of rare models that are in poor condition, have a look ,what would you pick as your gem(there is a moko hay rake or part of it but i wouldn,t expect anyone to pick that out lol)the train lot i bought not for the trains

Re: recent lots
In the first box I like the pink A40 (Spot On?) and the trolley bus looks like it has black poles. But I expect there’s loads more!
Re: recent lots
Two good spots, the A40 is spot on and really just needs tyres, the trolleybus is the rarer black pole version but suffering from getting dampDrJeep wrote:In the first box I like the pink A40 (Spot On?) and the trolley bus looks like it has black poles. But I expect there’s loads more!

Re: recent lots
In the first box the plastic motorcycle and Policeman was marketed in a Lincoln box (Lincoln International Hong Kong). There is aTri-Ang 'Trik Trak car and a decent looking Spot-On Bentley S1 saloon.
In the Second box there are several Lone-Star large and small diecasts including tuf tots and Lone-Star metal and plastic buggies. The slush cast I do not recognise.

Re: recent lots
Many thanks for the lincoln info on the police motorcycle ,good spot on the bentley ,you are correct about the lone star models ,quite a presence in this collection, the slush cast car i have shown with a base shot, next to a tootsietoy ,both i would say are 1940,s,perhaps someone will know.GHOSTHUNTER wrote:In the first box the plastic motorcycle and Policeman was marketed in a Lincoln box (Lincoln International Hong Kong). Re: recent lots
So what's in the railway box? I can see a red plastic car that might be a Cresta or Zephyr, but that can't be the gem, surely?
Re: recent lots
This was the item that made me bid on this lot,so you are correct but not on the actual make/model,neither was i ,i saw the red car as well and thought i knew what it was but i was 50% correct ,it was a capri not an escort, there are three rarer green escorts in there so i am not complaining, the other models are a lotus f1 car and a gt70,all in different colours as you can see.The interesting bit is these are from the early 1970,s and were i think cereal give aways at the same time the cars were being made, the escort has the reg number fev 1 h just like the escort corgi rocket.I am sure i have a couple of the red escorts somewhere and maybe a green one but the f1,capri and gt 70 are new to me,interestingly someone is trying to sell the gt70 for £29 on ebay at the moment so you see the potential of the find .The austin van is by eko and dates from the same period,my guess these were to be part of a model railway.DrJeep wrote:So what's in the railway box? If anyone can recall where these models came from i would be very interested,so far apart from other examples i have found out nothing of their origin

Re: recent lots
Thanks Dave. I'm sure Ghosty knows, but I think I've read that these may be from cereal packets.
