Broken Flywheel Roller

Post by Idris »

The flywheel roller pictured below sold on Ebay for £89.59 + £4.50 p&p (link).
That strikes me as being expensive for a model missing the front roll, so why the premium? Is it because it is the flywheel version, because it has the roof supports and roof, so did two people simply get carried away? What do members think?

Certainly not just 2 bidders getting carried away as the top 6 bidders were all different individuals. If someone has a donor front end, a nice model can be assembled.

That front end is attached by a body rivet that goes through the roller cage so you have to remove the wheel to re-attach it. You would then find the cast body rivet broken off and would either have to try and repair that or use a screw etc. I think it was more for the roof / supports and the flywheel as spares on another rolling model. I just purchased an all black cement mixer barrel on its cage with the turning wheel for a cheap price and far easier to repair as only the one end squashed down holds the barrel in place - now all i want is an orange body for it LOL

Looking at the bidding, four bidders bid over £75 and it went £89,which gives a pretty good guide for the flywheel roller in this condition sold through ebay, :D ,ebay is a bit weird sometimes,i think joe 90 cars are going for relatively high prices,so its difficult to predict what the price should be,but bear in mind a near mint flywheel roller can go for nearly £1000
