Re: The Bus Stop.
Yes John, you are correct it is indeed a Tudor Rose model made for Mettoy to market. On the inside under the stairs there is the traditional circular Tudor Rose logo moulding.johnboy wrote:Very nice bus Ghosty, was this a Tudor Rose product?
Tudor Rose of course also marketed a very similar model themselves in red or silver for the Silver Jubilee celebrations during 1977.
Some models were also marketed under the Rosedale brand name, rosedale being part of the parent companies name...Rosedale Associated Manufactures Ltd.
Mettoy purchased the Rosedale company in 1978 but decided to sell it on during the early 1980's when they themselves were finding it difficult to survive in the toy and model industry.

Re: The Bus Stop.
Thanks for the background info Ghosty, I've got a Tudor Rose model tucked away somewhere and recall the slogan on the side which I think is on a similar theme to the Mettoy one.

It will be...
Tudor Rose Toys for Girls and Boys
or...
Rosedale Toys for Girls and Boys
...depending on what version you have

Bus Modeller
Not for me, certainly, to comment on internal politics of another country.
Nor am I headlining this post with Boris.
However, I read in the “5 things you didn’t know...” he likes to model buses.
Is he a collector? On VBD?
Perhaps dedicate a post to best MB buses/coaches.
Think my favourite would be cream #74 in Esso livery.

It might be time to start my "Bucket List."
Re: Bus Modeller
It was more a salute about the new UK PM’s interest in model buses.
