Can someone tell me the history of the Tucker in non-metallic Red? I found one in a collection that I am sorting and I thought that it was a recognized production variation but someone mentioned to me a club event that we held this past weekend that it really was a pre-production color trial that was accidentally released to the shops.

Thanks,
Bob

Yes Bob, according to the article in MICA VOLUME 12 NO.2, July - August 1996, the non metallic red model is an unreleased version.

Thanks, I guess I need to check the model closer for casting differences.

If you do find distinct casting differences compared to a metallic red model then it can be classed as a model with preproduction status. If not, then it merely becomes a 'Colour Trial' model, but still nice to have.
