Re: spot the pair of gems
The E-type looks potentially interesting....
Re: spot the pair of gems
Does the Corsair have grey wheels? It’s a pale colour. The D-type looks to be without the decal locating rings. The Morestone Westminster is nice.

Re: spot the pair of gems
The twist
The bronze jag looks right to me ,good rivets bronze on the inside of the doors ,wheel wells etc, then i spot the paint smudges on the base and windscreen, this got me scratching my head, its still looks right but how to explain the smudges, well i think i have worked it out,the front air scoop has a different gold paint,i have tried to photograph it but its hard to do,when you hold the jag to touch it up here your finger and thumb are where the smudges are so my best explanation is it was touched up years ago by someone who wanted a gold airscoop,in going over the car with my spy glass right in the window corner theres a very small piece of candy red paint, again i think this bronze is the undercoat coat used on the candy red ,why the red is missing i don,t know, not bad for just over a quid
the fire fairlane in the photo is just to show how bronze/gold the jag is

Great value lot - does the Leyland Tiger bottom left have grey or silver wheels?
The Opels as well as some of the other models look to be in great condition - any chance of some more photos?

Re: spot the pair of gems
The E-type is certainly a puzzle. However, we have seen examples of later models where the top coat has detached, albeit not so completely (here).
Re: spot the pair of gems
I had thought this a possiblity but in the three examples i have had with the top layer coming off there was always no doubt that this had occurred, two were beetles and another was an e type jag where a big piece had come off the bonnet,if i had to pick a reason its either a spraying fault, running out of top coat,or extreme sunfade but this is less likely has it would still show a bit more i would of thought.Idris wrote:The E-type is certainly a puzzle.
