Y-10 1906 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost
Arrived this morning is another colour variation of the Y-10 Silver Ghost. The model is in lovely condition with its original box.

That is nice and with the Copper axles not an easy variation to find. Look on the back surface of the front seat and see if there is a Sprue Break Off Point, a little mark where the front seat was fixed to the main moulding runner as shown in the picture below.
If yours has this it means the model is from the 1983-84 production period and considering the Y-10 Silver Ghost was deleted from the range during 1984, makes it a very late issue. If you do not see the little mark on the back of the seat it is a model from 1982.

Hi Ghosty thanks for the nice comments and information. Just checked and My model does not have the sprue break off point so it will be 1982.

Silver-grey versions of this model had a production run from 1979 to 1984 and there are a few oddities to search for.
This is an early issue which has had the earlier purple base casting oversprayed with the new silver-grey colour.
Unless you get a good set of ebay pictures this one is hard to spot so is best obtained from a toy fair so you can actually pick it up and or take it out of the box to inspect.
