as a newbie to the diecast collecting etc then please could someone clarify for me regards the 59c ford galaxie fire chiefs car, i am lead to believe that this is based on the real american galaxie 500 car but on the side it has been given the invicta shield, this is the shield for kent and is why it is on the side of the 57c kent fire brigade land rover... does anyone know if there is a link between them at all ??
sorry if it seems a daft question

Re: 59c Ford Galaxie decal question
It is a brilliant question, one for our resident experts me thinks
My view is the model (to us) was made as a toy (to children) so the importance of the 'Kent' shield was not significant, just a handy sticky label to finish of the appeaernce of a Fire Chief car!!
Ghosty.

Re: 59c Ford Galaxie decal question
It is interesting to note that while these are really toys, they were based on actual vehicles so you could spend a while on the internet researching the possibilty that the Kent Fire Service were actually running a Ford Galaxy as part of the fleet, but this is less plausible than just using up spare sticky labels...
