No particular trigger, just something I thought needed stating, prevention always being better than cure.motorman wrote:Blooming hell have I missed something, what prompted that Hugh?

Is Welsh libel law different to English, Hugh?
Re: Deals and VBD
My understanding is that, technically, there's no such thing as English law, the correct term being English & Welsh law. Edward I made a start on dismantling Welsh laws with the Statute of Rhuddlan in 1282, but the two systems were not fully harmonised until the Laws in Wales Acts of 1535 and 1542. Although Scotland joined the Union in 1707, she has retained her own legal system to this day (which could come in handy when she regains her independence and I can get an EU passport again). I have no idea about N. Irish law.Martin Avis wrote:Is Welsh libel law different to English, Hugh?
