Won't Post
Won a job lot at auction but have waited 9 days and the seller hasn't posted. He/she is at 1232 and 98% but within the last 6 months there is a pattern of not posting within a reasonable time, mixed with comments praising quick delivery. I really want the items as I rarely win auctions (had to get up at 4:25am Australian time too), yet suspect this points to the seller hoping for a higher price and fear they have no intention of posting

Re: Won't Post
Sellers are becoming lazy, take your money and don't give a dam. My latest ebay buy it took 5 days get an invoice for international post and now it is 4 days and hasn't been sent yet.
He is a new seller to ebay and wants to sell his collection, but he is not in any hurry.
Well this won't help his feedback or sales by being so slow with any replies.

Re: Won't Post
It is so frustrating at times and the temptation is to consider taking serious action against the seller BUT...and an important BUT, any action you take towards a seller will have an effect on your own ability to trade smoothly with ebay again as all actions are monitored by ebay so while you think you are doing the right thing by causing problems for a so called 'Bad Seller' it will go against you!
You can only email messages back to the seller via ebay pointing out the importance of your items need to be with you (perhaps for a pre-booked model show as time is running out!).
Email ebay about the transaction is somewhat prolonged and they will likely email the seller about the items on your behalf.
Apart from that rather seemingly gentle approach, not much more you can do at the moment but wait paitently and keep your fingers crossed they arrive before the Sun burns out!
Ghosthunter.

Wait patiently for your items and then, once they are safely in your possession, leaving damning feedback.
Re: Won't Post
I presume by this it means you have already paid for the item but seller is slow posting. Nowadays we all want it right away but some sellers live far from a PO and only make a trip maybe once a week or fortnight to post. I suspect being in Oz and buying in the US (based on the time you give) you have to realise how remote some places are - can you imagine the flying postie turning up everyday in the outback !Sidebottom wrote:Won a job lot at auction but have waited 9 days and the seller hasn't posted. I have just recently purchased a couple of lots from a US auction just outside Minneapolis and it is taking them weeks - 2 lots of a dozen YYs each and so far no reply to 4 emails, answering machine when you call (between 1am to 6am Oz time) and I finally get an obscure sms on my mobile asking me to join some program - only when I look twice that I see it gives my mobile as a reference number (thought it was spam). I then get an sms back saying they have just started packing (2 weeks after auction). I am then told to contact 'Wayde' who knows what is happeneing- call Wayde and give him my VISA card details for payment thinking at last it will be on its way - no such luck - messaged them today (now nearly 4 weeks) and auction tells me they will let me know when shipping will occur.
Definately will not buy from them again. as mobile calls to US from Oz ain't cheap !

And if they don't do post but only once a week or fortnight they should say so in the post description on their ebay sellers item page, but no they don't for fear they miss out on a sale. Who wants to pay immediately on the same day as the auction ends only to wait a week or fortnight for it to be posted, not me. LAZY SELLERS.

The seller is in ## England. Ten days after payment made and no response to messages either.

Sounds like a nice place,
Billericay is a town and civil parish in the Borough of Basildon, Essex, England. It lies within the London Basin and constitutes a commuter town 28 miles east of Central London. The town has three secondary schools and a variety of open spaces. It is thought to have been occupied since the Bronze Age
Post office doesn,t sound very nice though, three reviews, 1 I would leave 0 stars if I could, worst post office I have ever set foot in, very very rude shop OWNER! I will never be back!
2 Worst customer service! Rude shop owner! And unhelpful staff- never once felt so unwelcome for asking for abit ofcellotape! Unbelievable!
3 Old guy in post office very rude. Would be 5 stars if not him.
You say you won a job lot,it could be that whats causing the problem, using the post office to send to australia can be very expensive if the parcel exceeds 2 kilos or will not fit in a box that the length ,width and height dimensions added together do not exceed 90 cms. Assuming your won items are ok, then on his listing it will say how many days the seller has from when you pay to post the items, this doesn,t not include weekends or bank holidays, assuming this date has passed ,try to contact the seller,he could be having problems( i think you have done this)next open up a case with ebay,in this you can leave the seller a message ,this may get the seller to act either with posting or an explaination, really theres not much more you can do except maybe highlight his/her name on here.
I have been selling a lot on ebay recently and see both sides, the post charges to australia and even europe have gone up lately, when a seller in the uk sends an item abroad the cost is more,so the commission to ebay and paypal is more ,if the seller only quotes the actual postage cost or under quotes then it can put them off posting,so without seeing the listing ,maybe this is the problem.
Also unless you enjoy getting up in the middle of the night to bid(we have all done it ) i would use esnipe, just remember to put your maximum bid you are happy to pay,not what you hope to pay,in the long run esnipe will save you money and sleep.

Re: Won't Post
Thanks Sex, I say job lot but it was 6 items for which I paid about 8 GBP post. I tend to think he/she was disapointed about the eventual selling price, despite 13 bids, given I got Two 22b's, and a red Aston 53 for what averaged out at 7 GBP - however they are in very play worn shape.
It's risky but on the few occasions I have won auctions recently I have bid a crazy figure very late - say 15 secs left - hoping other bidders will be more incremental, (but) it requires me to be there on closing

With esnipe you set the amount of money you want to bid and when you want the bid to go in,i use 6 seconds, this gives me one shot,i only bid what i would be happy to pay for the item, often i get it for less ,sometimes i don,t win, they also email you if you maximum is outbid so if theres time you can reconsider, esnipe does save time and money, but you don,t get the thrill watching the closing of the lot,
