39c - Ford tractor - unlisted variation?

Post by tandyfan »

The middle one is a distinct lighter blue, is this likely to be normal shade variation, or a "different" colour?

You need to compress your files or use a photo hosting site.

Nightmare Tandyfan!

You need to edit your images to 500 x300 pixels. That way we can all enjoy the images you are posting. I use "Paint" editing tool, it is very simple to use Just right click on your image, click edit, click resize, enter pixel size you want, then save as to a folder of your choice, you can then use that saved image to upload to the forum. Or as Joe (Tinman) has alluded to, use a photohosting site to do all the hard work for you, like "Photobucket" Cheers

It has been noted in both light and dark blue before, I don't know if one is rarer, its not one of my favorite models to be honest.

The all-blue tractors also come in distinct light or dark blue - I think they are different colours rather than mere shade variability. Along with the orange issue, that makes 5 colourways.

Light blue is a different colour which is only found on late examples from the Superfast era (about 1971 onward), and on both blue & yellow and all blue examples.

The darker blue colour in itself comes in shades as well which can be quite noticeable but are hard to categorize. Earlier examples tend to be darker than later ones. Those shades are also found on the 40c Hay Trailer, which to my knowledge does not exist in light blue.

Reposting a few pictures from my website, which also highlight the difference between yellow and lemon:

With yellow and lemon the situation to me is the same as with dark and light blue: two different colours, and in addition yellow comes in several distinguishable shades.
