Thanks in advance!

Hi Alwin,
both are preproduction models, so no wonder you did not find them! :)
The axle ends look a bit strange, though....

The Wreck Truck is the 1st run preproduction model. The body is plastic. The roof is actually the 2nd version as it has the drip channel round the edge. Very few white seats were made. The black crane assembly was made in various shades of green during production, but an extremely small number of black examples made it onto production models. The Woody looks fairly standard but with an unpainted bonnet component. If it's a preproduction model it will have an incomplete © date on the base. The Wrecker is much the better (and rarer) item.

You can play "spot the difference" with these two :)

glad you had the inlog codes for this forum and you now have better pictures then the ones you sent to me by email.
It is like Bob said.
My story was not that bad. Bob knows more about these.
Maybe he can also post this on MOYBOYZ or help you with your inlog codes there.

Alwin, your last visit to MOYBOYZ was just shy of 6 years ago. Your old log in should still work. If not PM me here.

Yes is has been a while since I posted some things on fora, last years have been very busy for me.
Will send you a pm because I do not remember my log in ;-)

Thanks for your replies and expertise!
The wrecker has indeed a plastic body. The Woodie has a complete date on the base and is completely identical to my yellow one other than the hood is unpainted.

When the Wrecker was being developed a lot of the work was outsourced to Rayleigh Technical Design (RTD), a company founded by ex Lesney employees who had been made redundant by Lesney. Cut down Model A vans were used to test fit the plastic components being developed by RTD.

Unfortunately the model above isn't mine. Note the hook is not designed at this stage, there is no drip channel round the roof edge, or any dashboard detail.

Can some kind soul resize Alwin's pictures please.

Got a feeling that this is my model pictured. As it is packed away at moment. Good description Bob. Unfortunately with the hook not present makes it look like a reject component fitted. But I seem to remember this being the first shot black jib. Then it was tried (moulded) again in black completed form, bit more detail etc. Then on to green colour.

Shame about the oversize pictures.

All the large file pictures now resized and slightly brightened for clarity.

I'd forgotten you are a member here Roger. Yes it's your picture. Hope you didn't mind me showing it here. I have most of your pictures from MOYBOYZ threads saved as your posts there state "open for copying".
