#13A Bedford Wreck Truck Colors
In a recent beaters collection purchased from the Netherlands, I found these interesting and thought I would post these, I could use a couple of like condition Jibs if any one has some spare parts. I noticed on the brown one a small dot in the center of the rear most panel underneath. Your thoughts on these are welcomed please.

Very interesting. The yellow one has flat-headed axles, suggesting that it’s older. I can’t tell if it’s really mustard yellow or more of a pale brown. Perhaps you could photograph it with some other yellow models - maybe an 8a Caterpillar or 11a tanker? It reminds me of Idris’s prepro 38a.

Sorry I have neither of those castings, any others maybe?DrJeep wrote:Very interesting. The yellow one has flat-headed axles, suggesting that it’s older. The grille does not seem to extend down as far as the Brown one, and the side hood grates appear slightly different
Re: #13A Bedford Wreck Truck Colors
I think we're probably looking at two extremes of the colour palette here, with paint thickness a contributory factor. Having said that, it does look as though there might be casting differences between the two examples (most noticeable in the bonnet louvres, although this could simply be the result of differing paint thickness). If so, since the 13a is too early for paired tooling, this would indicate that the model was retooled at some time.

The silver paint on these was done by hand, so they’re all a bit different. What do you have that’s brown or yellow? It would just help to show the colour more clearly.DiecastJunkie wrote:Sorry I have neither of those castings, any others maybe?

That really helps - thanks. I've made the file a bit smaller and adjusted the white balance a bit and it does look like this one is in the normal range of colours for the 13a - have a look at the picture here and see for yourself. Thanks for showing them.
