SF 33 wide arches thin wheels

Post by fixer »

Found this wide wheel arch body with thin hollow wheels
Never seen one before, has anyone else...saying that J will have half a dozen 6
Unfortunately the door spring keeps popping off so the doors are loose and there's a crack in the windscreen

Superb find Reg, I have never seen the likes before buddy, I don’t believe that this has been listed anywhere. Now I will be on the lookout for one, however It may be a futile exercise as I suspect these are super rare.

Thanks Reg.

One 'M' wheel and three 'N' wheels are mid to late 1971. The opened up arches for the new wider wheels body first appear during 1972 and the first mould numbers seen so far on the wider wheels is...'O' making your example a very early wide wheel model but fitted with the narrow wheels and I suspect one of a very few to exist in any condition.

The base rivets are the right diameter and actually look more genuine in your very first picture than they do looking square on. If I have any doubt on the base rivets it would be the right side example, as I think it just does not look quite right but I am happy to give this model the benefit of doubt and say it is a good one and a very scarce model.

Great model Reg, another model that I always look out for. Just added the opposite model to your one, this model has narrow arches with wide wheels.

How does the model roll Jason, any problems with the wheels rubbing against the narrow wheel arch?
