Thankyou Kurt And Gavin, Sometimes it is nice just to see a picture for confirmation. This was the first time I had actually seen this variation, after so many years you begin to wonder if you are looking at the right thing.

Does #17 Austin Taxi have a bend in the baseplate at the rear?

No , it should be flat, although there is a step in the base.

Two different types of black plastic(what are they called :oops: ).

It´s the same part but one is build in upside down.
The part is a hydrosleeve.
