I am on the look out for the green one with the early base without protrusions which is usually hard to identify from the small photos that sellers often provide

Beautiful, congrats.
It is very nice in the real life too.Sadly I saw the last one more than three years ago, but I take pictures, and posted them into the "Full-size Matchbox toys" topic.

The protrusions refer to the extensions to the red plastic interior visible from underneath the model as shown in the photos on the Nick Jones web site.
