Fresh in today

Post by YYS4BOB »

After a long journey from USA (purchased 15th January) to Canada, then back to the USA these choice pieces are finally here (10th February) after 26 days of travelling. Quite why they went through Canadian customs is a mystery to me, but at least they made it intact.

Gorgeous colour trial Lagonda I've always wanted but never manged to acquire (until now :D )

5 cleat body RAF with all the early castings, plus it has the rear canopy with the short lugs.

That is a lovely Lagonda to look at but it must be a problem for toy and model companies choosing colours that look nice or colours that represent real cars!

The Crossley is one version I keep looking for as well and rather surprising Bob did not have this one already.

When did Lesney/Matchbox ever worry about that? Certainly not after the 1960's!

Top example is a preproduction model with many casting differences to the production models, and has an incomplete copyright date. The lower examples are issue 1&2 in the 2002 MICA book, but both lack RAF roundels, and have never had any applied.

The whole fleet.
Front row
Prptotype with no detail, no text on base and cast tail light on chassis, Prepro as above, issue 1, 2, 4.
Middle row
Issue 6, colour trial canopy on issue 7, 7, 8, 11.
Back row
issues 12,13,15,17,18

great models Bob,

Good to see that you still find "new" nice pieces for your ever growing collection.

Found this one very hard to find. Olive green at the back and Battleking grey/green at front. I have only ever seen 3 of these so far, mine, one Ron Calcott posted in MICA and one a guy here in Oz had up for sale at a high price.
