Wheels: Black Plastic Tires (BPT), 5 spoke or 5 spoke star.
Windows: Clear, light amber, amber or green.
Emergency dome lights: Red, amber or clear.

Tow hooks: Silver or gold. Holes on right side (RS), left side (LS) or a combination (C).

Here are some images of the K2c Scammell Heavy Duty Wrecker pre-pro on behalf of Nigel in an all blue colour.

The differences I can see are:
Single colour blue body and jib.
The red beacon lights paired with green tint glazing.
No signage on doors.
Black plastic radiator grille usually red on the regular wheel models.
Higher castings cones behind front lights on the base plate the same as on the K10b Pipe Truck and the K19 Scammell Tipper truck.
This feature was also on the very first white version but removed/lowered during the white paint run and all through the gold run.See attached image.

Also attached is an image of the K2c to promote up coming releases. Note the Chevron door signage and this one appears to have a crimped axle pin for the twin hooks.

There is a great deal of work gone into editing the above listing with the adding of some new variations by Charlie recently. A job well done.

I like the early version with the red dome (beacon) lights which coincides with the red dome lights on the blue pre-pro colour trial from Nigel shown down the page.
Charlie, are there any differences between your variation number 2 and variation 3 other than the dome colour and hooks please?

A couple of interesting changes were made to this K2C wrecker model after production started. One being the eliminating of the tall cones just above the front bumper. Interesting because they either filled in parts of the hole in mould to make them shorter or they created new base plate moulds.

The second was the cost saving measure of replacing the two individual dome (beacon) lights, easily picked on most models because they differ in colour to the glazing compared with dome lights that were part of the window glazing. This reduced waste and most importantly reduced the steps in assembly, not to mention the fiddly job of fitting two tiny dome lights.

The green glazing was a carry over from the K10 Pipe truck (but also used on K19 Dump truck), hence the need for separate dome lights on early K2c variations. Both those models (K10/K19) had a curved brace on rear inside cab and the glazing had a cut-out to fit.
Later when the amber glazing complete with domes as part of the moulding was introduced it was moulded with K2 identification but they left the cut-out even though the K2c casting does not have the brace.
A very clever use of the mould modification and a great cost saver.

Hi Bert,
Thanks for the kind remarks. Just checked again var#2 & var#3 and these are the differences that I noticed aside from the dome lights and hooks:
Var#2 is off white with black radiator grill.
Var#3 is white with red radiator grill.

I did not notice any difference in the casting.

After reading this post, I went out and checked my two models to see what variation they were. Here is a picture of one of them that I can't quite figure out. For one thing the emergency lights are smaller than normal, and they appear to be painted red. I can see the plastic is either light green, or clear near the bottom, below the paint. They appear to be part of the green windshield, not some replacement glued in. I don't see a variation with a red grille with red lights? I'm guessing the headlights are snapped off, but both marks where the should be are the same, almost like a parting line. It has two homemade "Dad" hooks, so I don't know what the original hooks looked like.

The dome lights (which have been painted) are pushed down (probably stepped on) and have broken the window insert as a result.

That is what I thought also, which probably did happen, but if you look in the cab, the plastic is very close to the roof as it should be. The lights aren't pushed through the plastic either. I agree they have been painted, and the originally they would have been green or clear. The lights also appear to be much more rounded on top.

Interesting. I've never seen the red dome lights variation before. I do have a white one with red wheels, gold one with red wheels, gold with superfast wheels and amber dome lights and gold with superfast wheels and clear dome lights, and a couple to show the bumper variations too. All in perfectly mint 'playworn/used universe' condition...

I'm wondering if the bumper lights have been broken off, rather than were never there in the first place?
