Can you identify this model?

Would any one been able to identify the maker of the rather dusty model in the attached photo ?

I think it is an MG - possibly the TD version. It looks as if it may be partly or all tinplate based on looking at the seat back and the added silver trim pieces
The black cover looks as if it may be removable - possibly a battery cover?
Any one want to hazard a guess ? (I don't know the answer so this is not a quiz!)

Just a wild guess...
It is a 32nd scale plastic kit of the 1953 MG made and marketed by Revell (among others), as part of a Highway Pioneers range of veteran, vintage and classic cars. Depending on what issue it is, it was available from the early 1950's to 1960's.

Thanks for this. I found a photo of one of these Highway Pioneer models in 'unrestored' condition and have posted it below

However I see quite a few discrepacies between the this and the dusty red model I posted

The Highway pioneer model seems to have the following differences

Smooth (and slightly flat!) tyres with no tread
Very pronounced double curvature to the dashboard top
Body colour green in front of the radiator
No central silver strip to top of bonnet
Spare wheel seems to be mounted in higher position
No steering wheel visible
Number plate mounted on front bumper
Pronounced ribs to seat back

I suspect that the model in red is bigger - maybe 1/18 scale as I think the tipper beside it is a superkings model and the MG is much larger than that

Any other ideas?

In the meantime I will keep on searching !

With what information I have to go on, I don't believe it's a Highway Pioneers MG. My grandfather built quite a number of those models back in the 1950s (the MG not among them), and they were about four or five inches long; much closer to the length of the Super Kings dump truck next to the unknown model.

That being said, I have some questions that might help in the identification process. How long is the unknown model? Does it seem to have a clockwork motor? And perhaps most importantly, does it have a country of origin anywhere on it?

Plastic or metal? Can you give us the lenth so we can determine the scale.

I am thnking Entex or if metal Franklin Mint.

Thank you for the replies. Unfortunately I have nothing more to go on than the photo I posted.

I had a quick look at a Franklin Mint MG and an Entex MG both for sale on eBay and neither of these seems to be a match

The only large model that comes to my mind (not including vintage tinplate) is the DOEPKE model but they have steerable front wheels, NO rear high mounted number plate and are left hand drive, the dash panel not allowing for conversion to right hand drive.

Yes the model was in a job lot that has finished - the text made reference to some of the other models that were included e.g. corgi lonestar plus others that were not specified

I found the Doepke model in my own searches but I didn't think it was a match - it seemed to be more simplified
