67A with GPW?
67A with GPW?
This is the item in question. On first glance, it appears to be a 67A Saladin Armored Car with GPW. However, the VBD guide does not indicate that GPW are known to be fitted to the 67A. A closer inspection of the second photo shows what looks to be black spots on the wheels. I'm not sure what is going on here: painted-over BPW, a wheel swap, a new variation, or something else entirely. What do this board's experts make of this model?

Re: 67A with GPW?
Looks like the complete model has been spray painted, you can see this more clearly if you look at the colour of the axle ends.

There's nothing regular about wheels

Re: 67A with GPW?
I agree with John - the whole model, wheels included, has been painted a uniform pale blue greeny grey. giving the impression of GPW.
Re: 67A with GPW?
Yes, it does look like the whole thing has been painted over. So much for finding a new variation within driving distance of my home!

Except the seller's not hiding anything - he says in the description:mmi wrote:just another offer from a seller that knows otherwise and looks to prey upon the weak sheep
Condition: I found a whole set of these older Matchbox vehicles in my inventory, they were all painted blue is my guess, back in the 1950-1960 era, maybe great for someone to restore, all works great. Sold as shown in the many photos above.
Re: 67A with GPW?
My thoughts exactly. I don't think there's any intent to deceive here...just an overpriced model.

Re: 67A with GPW?
average buyer is not going to read that and know the correct answer, otherwise OP would not have asked about wheels
that is the known, dark photos misleading(been caught)fine print
if you disclaim it to be a "vintage" repaint why start the price above a genuine item to create the impression of a rare deal?
just like seller PT barnum ...........they get preferential treatment/help from epay....always bids, big sells and constant supply of RARE items
When average RW normally sell for $18-35 MNIB there is a certain seller that ALWAYS !! has successful sales of box alone way in excess..$$
then within 90 days the MN car ( didnt receive with box !!)appears with repop box and nets 80% of box sale.for the LARGE group of us that do not support the $.50 repop box. way to many successful sales and MNIB stock!
have not won a RW in 2 years when they are indeed genuine from good seller prices are 2-3x $
including having the box and over bidding 2x for car and repop.as a test.
