Hi John,
Looks more like an undercoat similar to what you get sometimes on the No75 red ferrari.

Thanks Jason, very nice, I can't remember seeing undercoat on the red version before.

would I be correct if I take "undercoat" to mean a layer of white paint (as opposed to primer) under the red top-coat? Whatever the case, though it's rough, that 1600TL is a model I'd love to own! Here in the States, we call that car a Type III Fastback, or more commonly just a Fastback.

It's a fabulous find. I have a regular wheels 67b with a white undercoat. Perhaps it's only noticeable when they're a little worn.

Couple of fairly recent additions which are almost in the same colour, very slight shade difference but could just be fading or something.

Thanks Alex,
Also interesting as the base has Chevy Nascar not the normal Chevy Pro Stocker.

Somewhere i've read Lesney had to change the text because Nascar didn't allow this.
So you have now the mother of pre pro of the pro stocker!
I've got only the "normal" pre pro with the # 88 on roof.
Great find.
