repainting

Post by Foxy »

Hi
Happy Xmas to one and all
I have just obtained a corgi stingray stock car. Its in great 'played with' overall condition with the exception that the rear wing has had all its paint scrapped off.
Firstly I dont think I'm up to a complete strip and repaint plus I'm not sure I can get hold of new/old replacement transfers. So I'm hoping to mask off and touch in just the wing
My problem is trying to get a good colour match. Just wondering if there's any way of finding a paint code or a source for matching paint colours

If you are in UK try Halfords they have there spray cans lined up like a rainbow and you can easily find a shade of yellow that you are after..Or why not try a B&Q match pot. They will make you one up in a nice mat acrilic and then you can give the repair a coat of varnish to bring the shine up.
Heres the man with the bargains.Always open to offers from this sites members..http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/misterpop/m.h ... m=&_ipg=25

You will probably have to mix your own as the years of sun exposure would have altered the original colour slightly. Your own eyes will be the best judge.
All my collection is absolutely mint, sage and onion condition
