Re: 36C Opel Diplomat with grey engine question.
Hi Dan, I can only go on my own experience but I found the grey was a little tricky to find but not difficult, they do pop up on ebay sometimes. I also found the one in the middle which is dark, not sure what's going on with it, maybe a malfunction with the plating or some contamination? Because the engine is usually hidden, it's difficult to know how many greys are really out there.

Re: 36C Opel Diplomat with grey engine question.
Hi Dan,
I've found very few of these - seems to be impossible here in NZ - I've opened up countless bonnets to check in the past five years and haven't seen one. The last I found was in London, but I elected not to purchase it as it was too expensive (the chap selling it claimed it was very rare, while I believed it was merely slightly less common). Now I wish I'd bought it!
Cheers,
Gavin

Speaking of HARD to FIND, the sea green/turquoise Opel Diplomat is listed in most reference guides with the grey engine also. I certainly don't have one to check on this element ........................... !
