Vectis lots
Just received the lots I have won from Vectis in Ali's Auctions from last September.
Wow, a lot of nice stuff !
21C with grey wheels
16C with grey wheels
13D with silver trim
Here is a 33B with knobby black wheels at left… The paint is actually matte.
The 55B with silver wheels…
An interesting lot of 43C... with the main variables… Straight, short and long curved brace… solid and grooved ramp handle...Different foot… Ridge and no ridge…
4D blue stakes and clear windows 66C
30B with grey wheels
A trio of 70A...black, silver and grey wheels
33C with frosted or clear rear window
To finish this, 51C Pointer… a question about these. The black sleeve is different, is this variable always coupled with the tipper block (wider on left or right side) ?

What a nice group you have just received and fun to go through. As a fine detail collector I like the 13d with silver mask trim, love the overspray on this one.
By tipper block do you mean the black hydro sleeve?
The hydro sleeve on the 51c is often found installed upside down (if there is a correct way!). If you have a look from the top you will see what I mean. If you have any other 16c Snow Plough you will possibly find it installed both ways there also.
The model on the right also looks to have a wider cross-member above the 3rd axle.
Enjoy going through these, Ali had some wonderful variations.

Re: Vectis lots
great stuff!
Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.
Re: Vectis lots
Very nice lot, they'll keep you busy for a while

There's nothing regular about wheels

Bert, you are totally right and I feel a bit ridiculous never having yo think it could have been installed upside down ! That's exactly the case here.yellowfoden wrote:Hello Pat,Matchboxpat wrote:To finish this, 51C Pointer… a question about these. And you are right, the right model has a wider hinge support. In fact, this variable is not even listed in Nick's variation guide.
Thanks !

Re: Vectis lots
I forgot to mention that most of these little beauties came with exceptionally crisp and beautiful complete boxes.
I strongly believe there were a lot of good deals to make in Ali's auctions. Prices were good and sometimes lower than they should, I would have bought a few more but unfortunately my budget is not unlimited !

Some really nice models there Pat, you clearly have an Eye for sorting out the harder to find models
I notice some of the boxes have sticky labels applied. If these are not original retailers price stickers I would personally remove them but very carefuly, as they may be past the stage of easy removal without damaging the box artwork. If so, try some heat from a hair dryer to help soften the sticky compound.
