Lamborghini transitional model

Post by Sebastian10 »

This boxed transitional RW finished a couple of days ago at a hefty final price of £350+ and was way too rich for me

On top it looks okay but underneath the base rivets don't quite look right to me - the centre hole of the top one looks elongated and the bottom one has a paint chip nearby as if a screwdriver may have been used to remove/replace the rivet
To me neither rivet appears to be fully pushed home :?
Or could it be I am just being paranoid? :)

Anyone care to comment?

Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,
Very hard to tell but that mark behind the rivet I have seen on a few models, I do tend to look in the rear arches to see if the base has been levered off.

To fetch that price it must have been the Yellow one with the Cream interior, not the Red interior.

Also the base of my model.

Hi Sebastian, here's a photo of mine and they all have similar marks behind the rivet. That area doesn't have paint on it, so perhaps it was caused when the rivets were pressed. (I've left the photo big, sorry the quality is a bit poor, the light isn't so good at the moment). I know what you mean about the elongated rivet, for that money you want to see everything 100% perfect but it's very difficult because you can find awful rivets, far worse than this, on the commonest of models.
(one of these cost me £1.49 as a bin on ebay last week :o and I would never pay all that money that the one above fetched when bargains can be found with a bit of luck and patience and a bit of compromise on condition) :)

I saw that someone had picked up that bargain when I did a quick search of sold items for the expensive one. Well done - I wish I’d seen it but I’m glad it went to a good home!

I am a bit embarrassed, it popped up as a BIN at the right time :)
