Well done, Reg, the near-mint condition really does justice to this model! A very nice find for the price!

Broughton,

A couple of very nice finds, the #5 looks very clean. I just missed out on a recent ebay listing of a #5 "JPS" with D/D wheels so i am a little pissed off. I am hoping that someone on the forum beat me to it, at least i will feel a little better about losing it (it was a bit battered but you dont see them that often and it would have displayed very nicely) :( , link below.

Well done, Broughton, the 'Sailboat' Mustang is a beauty.. fresh colour, and the label's in good nick. I suppose you're now on the lookout for 'reverse wild-cat' label versions? :D

Cheers, Ken

Hi Ken,
nice you like the Mustang! You won't believe, but it was more or less a random I bid for it.
I haven't seen one with reversed wildcat labels yet, but would look great. How is it written: " retsgard tacdliw"????

greetings Peter

LOL, "retsgard tacdliw".. that sounds a bit like Welsh! :D

Actually, it's not the lettering, but the Wild Cat itself that's facing in the wrong direction (towards the rear of the car).. there's another desirable label variant but with the 'Rat Rod' label (from the #62 Mercury Cougar Dragster).

Christian's page on the #8 Wildcat Dragster has more details:

Here's a couple of pictures of my ratrod labeled wildcat, the labels aren't the best but makes it seem more likely to be genuine, can't remember where I got it probably Brentwood a couple of years ago
