Re: K21A Mercury Cougar
This is another model I want to put back into my NON Rolls-Royce models collection. I loved my example and consider this a great example of classic Lesney production. Bringing regular wheel range details upto a bigger form to compete alongside the current Corgi and Dinky models.
I notice one of the models with red interior is suffering from the dreaded chemical reaction between the tyres and wheel rims. Once the sticky plastic starts oozing out from between the tyre and rim, there is nothing to be done to stop the process. I strongly reccommend the tyres are removed from the other examples and stored in paper bags to save the good rims on the other models.

Re: K21A Mercury Cougar
I followed your advise and removed all the tires. Many times I had opportunities to buy these beautiful models but passed because of this issue. I could not figure out why some of them are fine and others have this chemical reaction.
I used to think perhaps the models were not stored properly. However, there may be two types of hubs. The worst I have seen are examples of the K6B Mercedes Benz Ambulance. Fortunately the other regular wheeled cars seem to fair
much better. All of my K22A, K23A and K24A are good.
